Our Story
Anyone who has ever known Nadine no doubt has enjoyed her baking, and knows that this is what she was meant to do. From her time spent in her Grandmothers kitchen, to her baking lessons with her children. Baking is in her soul. She is a proud mother of two who gains inspiration from her family, friends and her community. Fresh, fun and local ingredients are the cornerstones of everything she bakes.
The possibility of opening up a storefront has been her dream for the past 20 years. Being able to share her passion and love of food with her community has become a dream come true.
A Look Back
I can't begin to express how honoring and exciting this year has been.
I have been working towards this goal for over 20 years. From the first time I picked up a wooden spoon in my grandmother kitchen I knew this was what I was meant to do. She always inspired me in the kitchen to take risks and to use what you have readily available, seasonal local ingredients as much as possible.
I called my sister and brother in law and asked if they would help build our vision. They combine two business styles seamlessly and worked so hard over every detail. My sister Maureen took what was in my head and created a beautiful space. I am so grateful to them both for all their hard work.
My wonderful husband Mike has been here with me dreaming and planning my one day pastry shop dream. He has always believed in me. When I came to him unsure and scared he gave me the courage to take the leap. I have worked almost everyday this past year and together with our amazing kids we did it. Amelia and Wyatt have been there cheering me on, sampling a few cookies and inspiring new flavors along the way.
Most of you have met the happy smiling Deanna here at Nest & Roam. She has been here from day one and we would not function without her. She brings positivity, hard work and a total enjoyment in everything she does. I am so honored to work side by side with her everyday.
As we celebrate our first year, I am so grateful for each and everyone of you. This wouldn't be possible without you, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. This is just the beginning of our journey!
